Walk4Hearing Silent Photo Auction – Check It Out!
-
I want to pass along a really awesome opportunity to support a really great cause. One of my readers, Chris Stern, had sent me an e-mail a while back and asked if I would consider donating a photo for an 11″ x 14″ print that would be auctioned off in a silent auction to help raise money for Walk4Hearing. I was both honored and very willing to help out.
Chris suffers from hearing loss and now wears two Cochlear implants which allow him to hear things he had never known existed. He’s participating in this year’s Walk4Hearing walkathon which is to be held on October 25, 2009 in Artesani Park in Boston, MA. Check out Chris’ personal Walk4Hearing page to find out more about how you can contribute.
Now, the photo that I donated is among 10 other photographers who have also donated photos to be silently auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to Walk4Hearing. Mpix has been gracious enough to donate the prints for the auction. Chris, along with Rob Jones and Jason D. Moore successfully organized the silent auction and will be coordinating it as well.
When I replied to Chris and let him know that I would love to participate, I didn’t know who the other photographers were that would also be donating photos. I was excited when I found out that the other photographers were Dave Cross, Laurie Excell, RC Concepcion, Jeff Revell, Matt Kloskowski, Ivan Makarov, and Roger Madsen. Chris, Rob, and Jason also have photos in the auction.
There are a bunch of great photos in the group, and I highly recommend that you check them out and bid on your favorite! The bidding starts at $50.00 for each photo and the highest bid will be updated as quickly as possible.
Here’s the link to the auction and don’t forget to check out Chris’ page at Walk4Hearing!
